Sayoc Kali seminar

"The Art of the Blade"
Guro Krishna Godhania will visit Stockholm Blade Arts for a two-day seminar in
Sayoc Kali - The Art of the Blade - on May 3-4, 2008.
Sayoc Kali is a Filipino fighting art focused on the use of knives and other edged weapons.
The strong focus on edged weapons and their related uses has made the art one of the most
thorough and well-structured blade systems in the world today.

| Sayoc Kali: |
The Sayoc Kali system emphasizes the correct and effective usage of the blade
without the primal or offhand reflexive responses that are more likely to occur with
aggressive movements that are unfamiliar to you. Sayoc Kali training includes the knowledge
of how to use a single knife, with a progression to the use of multiple blades, in
conjunction with empty-hand training.
Included in these categories of training are proper handling or blade edge discipline,
drawing the blades, vital target discrimination, unarmed knife defense and the
practice of disarms, projectiles and pressure-point manipulation used in conjunction
with knife work. Students are also taught critical injury management.

Emergency First Response course

CPR and First Aid
In the Emergency First Response (EFR) course you will learn rescue breathing,
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), serious bleeding management, spinal injury
management, injury and illness assessment, splinting and much more.
In conjunction with the EFR course there will also be a special session on knife
wounds and penetrating trauma. This session will focus entirely on knife wound
treatment, bandaging techniques, bleeding control, shock management and tactical
medicine.
