What is Stockholm Blade Arts?

Stockholm Blade Arts is a Sayoc Kali school located in Stockholm, Sweden.

What is Sayoc Kali?

Sayoc Kali - The Art of the Blade - is a Filipino fighting art focused on the use of edged weapons. The system consists of three parts: Sayoc Kali, Sayoc Silak and Sayoc Bakal. Please refer to our Styles & courses section and www.sayoc.com for further information!

What is Atienza Kali?

More information coming soon!

Please refer to www.atienzakali.com for further information about Atienza Kali!

Do I really have to be 18 years old to train with you?

Yes. All training group members must be at least 18 years old.

Do I really have to have a clean criminal history report to train with you?

Yes. All training group members must have a clean criminal history report.

New training group members are required to present photo ID and an extract from the Swedish criminal records registry (in an unopened envelope) when applying for membership. Register extracts can be requested from www.polisen.se.

To request an extract from the criminal records registry use the form Begäran om utdrag ur belastningsregistret, enskild person (PDF, 662 kB). The processing time is usually 1-2 weeks.

Is it possible to take private classes or bring you in for a seminar?

Yes. We do private and semi-private training as well as seminars, special courses and workshops. Please contact us for more information.

What kind of training gear do I need?

As a beginner, all you need is clothes suitable for training, like a t-shirt and pants/BDUs/shorts/trainers. You must also wear athletic shoes (such as sneakers, wrestling shoes or boxing shoes). You can then borrow the rest of the equipment you need during class (like training blades, rattan sticks, chop sticks, gloves and soft sparring sticks).

Intermediate and advanced students should have their own equipment. They should also wear official Stockholm Blade Arts or Sayoc Kali/Atienza Kali t-shirts during training. The recommended training gear for an intermediate/advanced student is:
  • Official Stockholm Blade Arts or Sayoc Kali/Atienza Kali t-shirt
  • Sayoc Kali/Atienza Kali training rig
  • Mouthpiece
  • Goggles
  • Sparring gloves (grappling/MMA style)
  • Soft stick
  • Rattan stick
  • Wooden chop sticks
  • Cup

Where can I find training gear (e.g. training blades)?

You can find good training blades at:
You can also buy training blades and other training equipment directly from our Online store.

Where are you located?

Stockholm Blade Arts is located on Brinellvägen 38 in Stockholm, Sweden. Brinellvägen 38 is about 500 meters away from the Tekniska Högskolan metro station. It is marked with a blue/white dot on this map.

How do I get there from Arlanda airport?

The easiest and fastest way to get to Stockholm City from Arlanda airport is by express train. The airport express train is called Arlanda Express (see www.arlandaexpress.com). It takes about 20 minutes to go from Arlanda airport to Stockholm Centralstation.

The cheapest option is to go by bus/coach. The airport buses are called Flygbussarna (see www.flygbussarna.se) and they take about 40 minutes to reach Stockholm Centralstation.

Of course, you can also go by taxi straight to the school from the airport. That is usually pretty fast, but is definitely not the cheapest alternative.

Are there any good hotels/hostels close by?

Yes. Please contact us for information and advice on accommodation in Stockholm.

Are there any tourist guides on Stockholm?

For tourist information, accommodation, attractions, current events, activities, and maps, check out the web site StockholmTown.com.
